there is nothing in life that compares with being completely understood and unconditionally loved by another. those people who come along and have the ability to truly do both, with a genuine concern that comes from the heart, are few and far between.

as i grow older, i realize it is the people in my life i connect with on a spiritual level that are of most importance. other than quality time in solitude and silence, i can not think of anything in the world that brings more satisfaction than a few hours with another soul who openly loves and effortlessly sees all of my thoughts and feelings that i have not yet formulated into words, hearing each one of them before they are spoken aloud.

i got to spend the past week with gina, one of my dearest friends in the whole wide world, who is a constant source of laughter, love and inspiration.
