I hold this to be the highest task for a bond between two people:

that each protects the solitude of the other.

yoga ~

teaching yoga is sometimes more meditative for me than my own personal practice, simply because it nurtures my human connections and increases my awareness for another individual who has momentarily opened their heart long enough to take a glimpse at what has been building the walls around it  and explore the valleys of darkness within, which contain pain from past experience that so often inhibits a soul from living out its full potential.

both my practice and teaching continue to take me to that place where illusion no longer lives, where expectation has become extinct, where, buried underneath all the rubbish and pride, we find our hidden treasure, the only fortune worth any real value, the tiny gem we call truth. our very own awe-inspiring truth. the precious jewel no one can take away from us.

and speaking from experience, there is no sweeter place to be.
